Marketing Plan

The Amelia Island Tourist Development Council produces an annual Marketing Plan to serve as a resource for tourism stakeholders in the community. There are also tools designed to help individual properties in their sales and marketing efforts, including cooperative advertising, promotions, and direct marketing opportunities.

Bed Tax

The Amelia Island Tourist Development Council is funded by a four percent (4%) tourist tax. Those accommodations on Amelia Island rented for less than six months are subject to the tax.

The Nassau County Tax Collector and the Nassau County Clerk of Courts each receive 1.5% of the tax collected as an administrative fee. The remaining funding is allocated as provided by the Amelia Island Tourist Development Plan.

NOTE: The tax rate on Amelia Island increased from 2% to 3% in January, 2009. In April, 2010, the tax rate increased from 3% to 4%. The total tax on transient lodging is now 11%.
